Sorry. There's no post this week, and there's a good chance there won't be one next week too. The last couple of posts were luckily in draft before I left home for what was supposed to be a couple of days of birthday fun at Mom's in Vegas. That was back on the 5th. Things have gone wrong and I've been visiting Mom in her hospital rooms, dealing with the insurance and physical therapy, and taking care of her new dog, who has the charm of not being housebroken.
Turned out that Mom had a fractured spine
and could hardly walk. My sister got here first and took her to Urgent Care, then the emergency room. She ended up spending a week in the hospital and has been in a physical rehab facility for the last two weeks to get therapy for the fractured spine (which Humana is calling “low back pain” in their effort to refuse the hospital bill).
She's coming home in a few days. Not because she's healed, just because the insurance runs out. I'm waiting for someone in the family to come help, but feet are dragging.
We'll be back to pumpkins and hatchets as soon as possible.
Keep it creepy,
Jennifer
Sorry to hear this. Take care of your mom and yourself.
So sorry, Jennifer! I hope your mom's recovery is fast and complete, and that the insurance company has a paranormal experience that makes them ethical and honest (a Scrooge-ish ghost visit, maybe?).
